Living in a body can be a challenge. As a female, there is an extra layer of complexity to health. The cyclical nature of our bodies and the play of estrogen can lead to increased chronic inflammation and autoimmune disease via a variety of mechanisms. We know most health studies are performed on males. Likewise most workout classes are made for the “average” body. Exercise advice for inflammation often stops at “gentle activity”; yin yoga, long walks, qi gong. These activities are less likely to lead to a flare up like a power yoga class or intense cross fit session might. But what about for those who don’t just want to reduce flares, but want to heal and improve? Together Mamoun and Courtney combine their knowledge and years of experience to address the question of how to find embodied strength and reduce inflammation in the female body.
